The Challenge
Braun ’s UK headquarters sought to upgrade their auditorium’s audio-visual system to meet the demands of modern conferencing and presentations. The existing solution lacked the ease of use, video quality, and integration needed for hybrid meetings. Braun required a seamless Microsoft Teams experience for internal meetings, with the flexibility to accommodate external visitors presenting to delegates on-site and virtually. The system needed to deliver outstanding video quality, clear audio, and an intuitive control interface to simplify operation for users.
Our Solution
tdc designed, installed, and commissioned a comprehensive upgrade to the auditorium’s AV system, ensuring the space met B. Braun ’s exacting requirements for both in-room and virtual collaboration. The solution included:
Projection System
- Replacement of the existing projector with an 8500-lumen laser projector, providing superior resolution and The lamp-free design ensures minimal maintenance while delivering consistent performance.
Video Distribution
- Implementation of Extron NAV AVoIP for all HDMI routing, enabling high reliability and scalability. The dedicated AV network supports future expansion, allowing additional displays or inputs to be easily integrated.
Audio System
- Retention of the existing ceiling microphone and audio processing unit, leveraging recently upgraded components.
- Installation of two column speakers (left and right of the display) for enhanced clarity during presentations and Teams calls.
- Replacement of ceiling speakers with four new units, integrated within 600×600 ceiling tiles for improved sound distribution.
- Deployment of a new wireless microphone system, including handheld and lapel microphones, supported by a charging base with real-time monitoring to ensure they are always ready for
Control System
- Replacement with an Extron Control Processor, providing users with consistent control over power, source selection, volume, routing, and The interface integrates seamlessly with the Microsoft Teams Tap panel and a 7” touchscreen for intuitive, one-touch operation.
Video Conferencing
- Installation of a 1Beyond multi-camera system, featuring three auto-switching cameras for broadcast-quality video conferencing without requiring user input.
- A Logitech Teams Base system was added to ensure consistency with existing meeting rooms, delivering a familiar and simple user experience for joining or hosting Teams meetings.
Furniture and Network Infrastructure
- Provisional allocation for a replacement lectern, to be finalised based on Braun ’s preferences.
- Installation of an AVoIP network switch to facilitate dedicated device
The Outcome
The upgraded auditorium now provides B. Braun with a state-of-the-art conferencing solution that combines ease of use, high-quality audio and video, and seamless integration with Microsoft Teams. The flexible and scalable design ensures the system will continue to meet their needs as they evolve, offering an exceptional experience for in-room and virtual participants alike.
